Fashion Week - Day 1
Jayne:
Well, fashion week got off to a bang, or should we say a "pop" today,
as we launched A Fashionable Life nationally from the Moet and Chandon
Lounge at Bryant Park! The crowds lined as we started the show for the
9AM Nautica and the 10AM BCBG shows. They were our live audience as we
talked fashion, fall and spring trends, with Jarett Wieselman,
Lifestyle Director of InTouch Magazine. Jarett told us about Halle Berry
being 3 months pregnant and the sad break-up of Heath and
Michelle, but, because we are never far from the fashion point,
he also talked about Gwen Stafani and Zac Posen as the biggest
influences in fashion...very interesting! Jarett knows his
stuff. Fern Malis, Executive VP at IMG and major fshionista,
stopped by in a beautiful Max Azaria fall pattern dress. Her
accessories included chunky necklaces and bracelets from her
world travels for IMG. Busy Fern gets through this week with
lots of water!
Then
it was off to the BCBG show, ourselves which showed romantic
and feminine dresses for spring. Soft pearly grays and muted
plums ruled the runway. Backstage we spoke with Lyold Boston
from Full Frontal Fashion who loved the show! Here are some
backstage highlights!
We
made our way to The Bryant Park Hotel to see the spring 2008
collections for Kmart and Sears. More on A Fashionable Life
next month from these 2 power house companies but suffice
it to say, you can get more than power tools there!

In between checking out what Sears and Kmart have to offer
this Spring from their extensive lines of wearable and affordable
fashions(they have suites at The Bryant Park Hotel across
the street from the tents), Jayne and I got on the elevator
with non other than Nicky Hilton. I asked her where she got
her gorgeous silver, jeweled sandals! She replied that they
were four year old Valentinos!! Maybe that was her way of
paying homage to the retiring designing icon.
We
are running back to CT to give our families a hug, change
clothes and then drive back in to attend the book party tonight
for our friend Tommy Hilfiger. Phew....and that is only day
one! More tomorrow......
