A Fashionable Look at Fall 2008
As the fall season begins, we want to guide you into your fall shopping with sound "Fashionable Life" advice. Regardless of your own economic situation at the moment (and we all have to watch our pocketbooks), we need to think about a few things before we hit the stores.
First and foremost, think about what your clothes say about you and what you want to express. Are you feeling romantic, wild and playful, somber and pensive or easy and ethereal? There are a million choices this season but first know WHO you are and WHAT you want your clothes to say about you. Once you figure it out and stick with it, you will never fall into the "trend" or "impulse buying" trap again!
Second, be true to yourself! Look I know I am a "sporty" girl. I look better in simple elegant clothes which is why I lean toward the classic "American" designers like Ralph Lauren and Michael Kors. BUT, I would love to be a sexy "in your face" kind of Roberto Cavalli girl but it just doesn't feel right, not to mention look right! You have to have that "heart to heart" with yourself before you walk through the doors of your favorite retail store to avoid an afternoon of regrettable fantasy shopping. We are all guilty of that!
Finally, make sure you know what you have in your closet and how you can add to it without braking the bank. Shoes, bags, and belts are of course the easiest items that change an outfit instantly but remember WHO you are. Think color, size, thin or wide belt, ankle boot or thigh high before you indulge! If you are average height like me with an athletic build, 3/4 boots are not for you! KNOW THY SELF!
SO there you have it. Knowing who you are and what you want your clothes to say about you is the way to go. Once you figure it all out, be proud, be confident. We know you are looking great!
